Loretta Miraglia, Esq.

Mediator and Attorney in solo practice. Advanced Accredited Member of the New York State Council on Divorce Mediation. Available for in-person and on-line mediations and consultations. Offices in Eastchester and Yonkers, Westchester County.

Mediation Practice. Facilitative mediator with over 16 years’ experience and extensive training in mediation and other dispute resolution practices. Mediated over 250 disputes (1,000 hours) in a variety of areas, including those relating to divorce, pre- and post-nuptial agreements, separation agreements, custody disputes, child support, equitable distribution; disputes in Surrogates Court including 17-A Guardianship, trusts and estates; elder care issues; commercial and civil disputes; partnership breakups; insurance; trade secrets; partition actions; and disputes between business associates, organizations, collaborative teams and colleagues. Coach mediation trainees in basic, custody/visitation and Surrogate’s mediation training programs; present on mediation techniques and experience. Provide pro bono mediation for custody/visitation, community disputes and small claims court.

Mediation Panels. Commercial/Civil, Family Court, Matrimonial and Surrogates Courts in Bronx, New York, Richmond, Rockland and Westchester county courts. Spearheaded the inauguration of the mediation program in the Yonkers City Courts in 2022. Mediator on Westchester Surrogate’s Court Mediation Panel since its inception as a Pilot Program in 2018. Prior panel mediator for AAA Storm Sandy Mediation Panel in 2013.

Legal Practice. Current legal practice focuses on agreement negotiation and drafting; consultation and review support for parties in mediation; counselling outside of mediation; and preparing/filing uncontested divorce papers. Prior professional experience as a registered patent attorney at boutique intellectual property law firm and in-house positions at a multi-national corporation and start-up companies up to the AVP level. As a summer associate law student, clerked for a small commercial litigation firm and volunteered at DNA People’s Legal Services on the Navajo Reservation.

Mediation Training. Completed hundreds of hours of mediation training, including advanced training in divorce, elder/family, LGBTQ+ issues, commercial, employment, wage and hour mediation, as well as training in other dispute resolution areas such as negotiation and arbitration.

Education: JD from Harvard Law School. BS degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Chemistry and Life Sciences (double major) with minor in Literature.
